Last Tuesday night at a meeting of the Cosmopolitan Literary Club Dr. W. C. Wicker read an exhaustive paper on the Hebrew names of Deity which revealed a familiarity with the Hebrew Scriptures and presented an interesting study of Jewish customs and ideas.

The Christian Church at this place in regular business session last Wednesday evening elected two new deacons and transacted other important business for the ensuing year. Rev. J. O. Atkinson, D. Pastor, and his family are spending -the holidays visiting Capt. W. J. Lee and friends near Norfolk, Va.
