As I have demonstrated in previous communications, the blood pressure was lowered in the majority of the polyarthritis cases after injection of 50 to 300 micrograms of radium (element).

The blood pressure lowering properties observed in the cases after the intravenous radium salt injections suggested the use of radium in high blood pressure. Before reporting the results of these experiments I wish to refer briefly to our knowledge of the etiology of high blood pressure. The cases of hypertension we can group in three classes.
