Si Svetonii aetate incertos fuit a'uctor buius libri, ut ipse in vita Iulii Caesaris'e. 56 dixit: non videtur posse bodie nomen auctoris libro praescribi. In codicibus praescribitur vel Op pii vel Hirtù' nomen; e Svetonio baud dubie: qui vero librarii Caesarzls' Celsi Svetonii nomen praescripserunt bi non minus erra runt, quam qui cum esse ab Hirtzb Pansa scriptum putarunt de quo errore ad initia libri octavi de bello Gallico admonitum est.
