For the Lord giveth wisdom; out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understand ing. - proverbs 2 6.

This passage of Scripture furnishes a theme that is especially appropriate to the present occasion. We learn from it that wis dom is a divine communication, and that knowledge is acquired by intercourse with God. It teaches us, not that education is important to Christianity, but that Christianity is essential to education.
