Having treated of so many and divers thinges I could not but say something of such matters as women use ordinarily in beautifying and embellish ing their faces; a thing well worth the knowledge insomuch as many women are so possessed with a desire of helping their complexions by some artifio cial meanes, that they will by no meanes be dis sanded from the same.

Now the things which they use are these, viz. Ointments of divers sorts, powders, fetts, waters, and the like whereof Jo. Modonese, doctor of phy sic, hath written at large, in his book intitled the ornaments of women, wherein he teacheth the whole order of beautifying the face.
