Vor Entstehung des Proembryo wird der Inhalt der Spe-3 renspitze in ein feiukörniges, zähes Protoplasma umgewandelt, welches von dem übrigen Inhalt, in welchem Arnylumkörner in überwiegender Menge vorhanden sind, in einer zusammenhängen den Masse getrennt werden kann (taf. III. Der Proem brye verhält sich wie bei Pilularia; die vier Zellen des Eichens bleiben lange mit Chlorophyll gefüllt und sind dadurch nicht so leicht von den benachbarten Zellen zu unterscheiden als es bei Pilularia der Fall ist.
