Lavren'ì'iano Sophoclis atque Aeschyli libro nullus exstat Euripideorum par aut propinquus, sed quod in illis ex uno egregio codice plerumque fits, id colligitur in Euripide ex consensu plurium bono rumu Inter quos eminere et aetate et fide constat Marcianum 471. Proximum illi locum Kirchhoffius Vaticano tribuit, nos Wilamowitzium secuti Parisino A; nec credimus Kirchhoffium, si pleniorem libro rum notitiam habuisset, si constantiorem Parisini cum Marciano concordiam, si Vaticani innumeros repu tasset per incuriam natos errores, non nullos etiam per audaciam Icorrectorum, in sua sententia fuisse mansurum. Sed ubi Marcianus exstat, utriusque A et V fatendum est ita tantum valere auctoritatem ut MA vel MV longe gravius sit testimonium quam M solius; A aut V solum rarissime veram lectionem contra M V vel M A suppeditare.
