Time, a matter of 20-30 years, has healed the wounds, has calmed the fears and dried the tears of many Latter-day Saints, who used to be persecuted by infuriated mobs, whose abuse, hatred and insults were the outcome of bitter prejudice, ignorance and malice against the Church. Many a shameful record reposes in the historical archives of this country. We bear no ill - will to anyone. We pray for those who, not knowing, were our persecutors. Some of them are now the staunchest friends of our Church and her people. The press of this land has also been the champion of our cause, manifesting the spirit of British fair play and justice and aiding us to present to this nation the Message of the Restored Gospel.
