Excerpt from A Compilation of the Acts of the Legislature Incorporating the City of Macon, Georgia: And a Revision and Consolidation of the Ordinances Passed by the City Council of Macon, to the 3d October, 1862

Sec. 23. And be it further enacted, by the authority aforesaid, That the said Mayor and Council of the city of Macon, shall have power to fill any vacancies which may occur in the Board of Health; and this act may be pleaded, and shall be a complete defence to any action brought against the sad Mayor and Coun cil, or either of them, for any act done by them under its provis ions, and of the ordinances passed in pursuance of it.
