TH E Goodnefs of that Land, which God had promifed the Seed of Abraham, is reprefented in this Chapter, whereof my Text is a Part. They were encourag'd to expeft' that they Ihould be furnilh'd herein, not only with the Necefiaries, but with a Rich Abundance of the Conveniencies of Life 3 and they were afi'ur'd that, in a little Time, they {hould take Polfeffion of this defirable Coun try Yet, left they {hould be too much delighted, with the near Profpeét of fo much earthly Good, Maj}; lets them know that this wou'd not be with out its Snares. To prevent their being guilty of fo great an Evil, as the Mifimprovement of the Bounties of Divine Providence, which they were now about to receive, the Duties, to which they would be hereby firongly oblig'd, were a frelh fet before them the Laws, which they formerly heard, were repeated to them and they were put in mind of the Hardlhips with which they had been exercis'd in the W'ildernefs and of their frequent Mifcar riages under them, that they might ufe the Com forts of the eood Land, into which they were eu tering, with greater Gratitude to God, and Diffi dence of themfelves.
