In summary we can say that of the seven cases with hyper tension five responded readily to the radium injection, in two cases no marked reduction was observed. Further investigation must be made to determine whether large doses of radium given at once would lower the blood pressure in such refractory cases. Radium applied intravenously over a long period exerts a slow progressive blood pressure lowering effect without. Causing any injurious effects to the organism, and for this reason is preferable to thorium X.
