And even in those, he wishes it also to be borne in mind, he is well aware that his style has nothing to distinguish it from a host of the Sketch Books and Miscellanies of his predecessors ln the same line of composition saving, indeed, that he may have, in the vanity of a young aspirant, occasionally worn his lite rary foraging cap cocked on one side; and, perhaps, more unwarrantably, (as his present lucubrations may verify) stuck the humour of his thirty or forty fancies in it for a feather.
