There is more to climate and its conditions than would at first appear, and the lack of knowledge in regard to physical laws by which it is governed has been the cause of no little national, racial and personal misfortune. The close student of demographic science - that which relates to the world's pe0p1e at large - or the fundamental principles of sociological science, is fully aware that we must first begin by the study of the physical conditions that produce the climate, as that gives an index as to all the conditions that make the man, as it is a well understood proposition that man is what the food makes him and climate determines the food.
