Inhaltsangabe

For over 1000 years Milu, a strange-looking species of Chinese deer, existed only in the Forbidden Park in Beijing. Robert Twigger tells the amazing story of how, in the late 19th century, Milu was saved from extinction by a Basque priest and an eccentric Englishman. In the process, he provides an illuminating meditation on a number of human obsessions - evolution, truth-telling, extinction, myth-making and survival.
