This book is based on the experience of the author as a practitioner and trainer. Location lighting requires decisions to be made quickly, with rarely any opportunity to experiment. The aim in writing this book is to give an insight into how the problems can be solvd and the pitfalls avoided!

Alan Bermingham operates as International Television Training and Consultancy (ITTC), specializing in television lighting. He was formerly a Senior Lecturer in Television Technical Operations at the BBC's engineering training Centre, Wood Norton, specializing in television lighting. He worked at TV-am as a Lighting Director and moved to Television South West, becoming Head of Lighting. Alan formed ITTC in 1992 and has given lighting training in over twenty countries. He is a co-author of Multiskilling for television Production and The Video Studio, also published by Focal Press.
