In the past few decades, methods of linear algebra have become central to economic analysis, replacing older tools such as the calculus. David Gale has provided the first complete and lucid treatment of important topics in mathematical economics which can be analyzed by linear models. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
David Gale is professor of mathematics, economics, and operations research at the University of California at Berkeley. He has been a Fulbright Research Scholar and a Guggenheim fellow, and since 1955 has served as a consultant to the Rand Corporation.
