Excerpt: ... 1801.--The spire of St. Andrew's being much damaged, by a violent storm of wind, from the S. W. was this year taken down for a considerable way, and rebuilt by Mr. Nelson, a stone-mason of this city. 1802.--Aug. 30th. The late Admiral Lord Nelson, eame to Worcester, when the corporation presented him with the freedom ofthe city. His Lordship visited Messrs. Chamberlains China Manusactory, and gave them extensive orders. 1803.--His Royal Highness he Duke of Cumberland visited Worcester in the months of March, and August of this year. 1807.--Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales, and Duke of Sussex, being on a visit to the Marchioness of Downlhire, at Omberfley court, in this county, was pleased to honour this city with their presence, (on Friday, 25th September) accompanied by the Marchioness of Downshire, several of the neighbouring nobility, and other persons of distinction. The Royal party were received in the city by the Worcester and Birmingham Volunteers, who lined the principal streets, leading to the Town-hall with presented arms, the bands playing "G#d save the King, &c." On their arrival at the_Town-hall, they were received by the Corporation, attended by the venerable recorder the Earl of Coventry, who complimented their Royal Highnesses for the honour they had conserred on the citizens of Worcester, by their Royal visit, after which, the Royal party partook of a very elegant collation and desert. After taking leaving of the Corporation at the Hall, they proceeded to view the porcelain manufactured' by Messrs. Barr, Flight and Barr, and Messrs. Chamberlains; to each house his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales gave liberal orders. After which, the whole party returned to Omberfley to dinner.
