Stephen P. Jenkins is Professor of Economics and Director of the Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Essex, and Chairperson of the Council of the International Association for Research on Income and Wealth. He is also a Research Professor at DIW Berlin, and Research Fellow of IZA Bonn and CHILD Turin. Previously he was Professor of Applied Economics at University of Wales Swansea.

John Micklewright is Professor in Social Statistics in the School of Social Sciences and Statistical Sciences Research Institute, University of Southampton. He is also a a Research Fellow of CEPR, London, and IZA, Bonn. Previously he was Professor of Economics at the European University Institute, Florence, and Queen Mary, University of London.
