Plastics, rubber, and their composites are increasingly finding new applications in engineering, both as replacements for traditional materials and in completely new developments. Automobile, aerospace, building, lectronic, and marine engineering all show the influenceof the plastics revolution. The modern engineer needs a good working knowledge of both polymer engineering and metallurgy if he is to be fully effective.
