He is a member of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina. The author, Wolfgang Hackbusch, is director at the Max-Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig. He is a member of the Berlin Academy of Sciences. The author, Hans Rudolf Schwarz, retired from the University of Zurich.
