Bob Chilcott writes superbly well for voices - as demonstrated in these three such different settings. What sweeter music, written to be sung by the choir of Westminster Abbey, is a complex piece on paper although comparatively simple in its effect. Tight contrapuntal imitation, gradually expanding from a unison, creates a pulsating background to a soaring soprano melody.
