Críticas:
The stories are good. Some of the stories are so short, you'd be left wondering what is the point of them if you miss the context of the story. --Prashant Kumar Badaga Oct 8, 2014

Manto's irony, humanity and the ability to put down his pen at the right time is unlike what most other writers have. Perhaps the translation in English from Urdu takes something away but still this book is a breeze and a worthy part of any collectors shelf. Manto's stories shed light on what was pre-partition Bombay and Amritsar, unlike what our generation has seen and it strikes you that a part of India has been cut apart and will never be back. There are no superficial characters even though most of the stories are based on imagination the characters could be easily real people whom he doesn't judge, he leaves it to the reader to feel happy, sad, angry etc for the subject and decode the story in his own way. --By Achint Singh on 19 September 2014

Perhaps the trauma of Partition can be best understood in the stories of Saadat Hasan Manto. The stories collected here present a rich sample of his ability to narrate the emotions, the pangs of separation faced by all those people during the time of Partition. --By Sunayan Mukherjee on 14 September 2014
Reseña del editor:
Many of us know how the partition of India and Pakistan came about. However, there are several other stories that took place during that time that we need to be aware of. There are several tragedies which have not received as much importance as the partition itself. The book is a collection of unforgettable stories put together as Saadat Hasan Manto s most powerful pieces. It is based on the Partition of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan in the year 1947. The book contains many stories like Toba Tek Singh, The Return, The Assignment, Colder Than Ice and many more. All these stories come alive to put forward the most tragic events in the history of the subcontinent.
