The story of CULLODEN is the story of men and women who suffered for a cause that wasn't theirs. The leaders of the Highlanders were at odds, the battlegrounds were badly chosen, the men were hungry and ready targets for the Royal Artillery. Here, from contemporary memoirs, letters, newpapers and regimental order books, John Prebble reconstructs the terrible moorland battle and the months of repression and brutality that followed it.
