Henry Reed has another sure-fire money-making plan--but the kids of Grover's Corner have plans of their own

An intelligent person like Henry should have no problem riding herd on the town's toddlers. But Henry's never tangled with such monsters as daredevil Danny, whose stunts keep Henry on his toes--when he's not ducking the toys Danny hurls at his head. There's also Bernice, the amazing disappearing five-year old, the always obnoxious Sebastians, who want in on the fun, and Henry's old friend Midge, able to outwit any fiendish five-year-old.

About the Author:

Robert McCloskey (1914-2003) wrote and illustrated some of the most honored and enduring children's books ever published. He grew up in Hamilton, Ohio, and spent time in Boston, New York, and ultimately Maine, where he and his wife raised their two daughters. The first ever two-time Caldecott Medal winner, for Make Way for Ducklings and Time of Wonder, McCloskey was also awarded Caldecott Honors for Blueberries for Sal, One Morning in Maine, and Journey Cake, Ho! by Ruth Sawyer.  He was declared a Living Legend by the Library of Congress in 2000.  You can see some of his best-loved characters immortalized as statues in Boston's Public Garden and Lentil Park in Hamilton, Ohio.

Review:

"Would-be babysitters will delight in Henry Reed's sly account of the horrors [of a] summer of babysitting."--Commonweal
