Dr. Susan Jones Sears, an education and career consultant, was a faculty member in counselor education at The Ohio State University for 25 years. Her consulting and research focus is in career and college student counseling.

Dr. Virginia N. Gordon has extensive experience in teaching, administration, advising and counseling in higher education settings. She has written extensively on topics associated with higher education including academic and career counseling.

Drs. Sears and Gordon also wrote "Selecting A College Major," published in 2010 by Prentice-Hall.

Students progress through a process that uses the Internet and other hands-on activities to discover how their interests and strengths are compatible with the possible occupational and educational alternatives that they identify. Students also learn how to mount a job search and determine their readiness for the changing work world and the skills needed to succeed in the jobs of tomorrow.
