This introductory textbook provides students with a sound understanding of the complexity and dynamism of the organisational (private and public sector) environment. It stresses the rapid change in environmental parameters and the challenges, opportunities and threats that these pose. A global and particularly European (EU) perspective prevails throughout and students will appreciate the characteristics and prime features of the competitive, economic, legal, political, social, technological and ecological environments and their influence on organisations both now and in future scenarios. The book also stresses that these elements of the environment are inter-connected, and offers an integrated approach.
