Lossless Information Hiding in Images introduces many state-of-the-art lossless hiding schemes, most of which come from the authors' publications in the past five years. After reading this book, readers will be able to immediately grasp the status, the typical algorithms, and the trend of the field of lossless information hiding. Lossless information hiding is a technique that enables images to be authenticated and then restored to their original forms by removing the watermark and replacing overridden images. This book focuses on the lossless information hiding in our most popular media, images, classifying them in three categories, i.e., spatial domain based, transform domain based, and compressed domain based. Furthermore, the compressed domain based methods are classified into VQ based, BTC based, and JPEG/JPEG2000 based.

Lossless Information Hiding in Images introduces many state-of-the-art lossless hiding schemes, covering a variety of techniques that fall into one of the three established categories: spatial domain–based schemes, transform domain–based schemes, and compressed domain–based schemes.
Key features
• Spatial domain–based schemes includes modulo addition–based schemes, difference expansion–based schemes,
histogram modification–based schemes, lossless compression–based schemes, and reversible secret sharing–based
schemes
• Transform domain–based schemes covers the requirements for lossless information hiding in transform domains and
two types of transform domain–based lossless information hiding methods, i.e., integer DCT–based schemes and
integer DWT–based schemes
• Compressed domain–based schemes cover four compressed domains: block truncation coding (BTC), JPEG, JPEG2000, and vector quantization (VQ), including, the modified fast correlation VQ (MFCVQ)–based scheme, side match VQ (SMVQ)–based schemes, and VQ index coding–based schemes
Lossless Information Hiding in Images describes the challenges and benefits of each scheme and guides engineers to
select and design a hiding scheme most suitable for their purpose, such as copyright protection, content authentication,
and secret communication in the fields of military, medicine, and law. This book additionally provides an invaluable resource for all researchers, students, and teachers in the fields of information security, image processing, information hiding, and communications
