It also includes a number of viruses such as Nipah virus which was discovered too recently to be included in the ICTV Report and TT virus which was unknown when the previous edition of the book was compiled. With 25% new entries, A Dictionary of Virology also covers a wide range of terms used in virology from AIDS to prune belly syndrome, spaceflight and viruses, and Zoster sinoherpete. Entries describe virus structure, replication and role in disease as well as control or prevention methods and all follow the latest ICTV guidelines regarding the naming of virus species. Also included are the most important references to allow the reader to dig deeper into the literature as desired.
Over 6000 entries include commonly used cell lines and explanations of terms applicable in molecular biology as related to viruses.
