This reference describes and classifies 169 families of fish that inhabit lakes and rivers, and provides representative drawings and global distribution maps. The families are organized by jawless fish, jawed fish, lungfish, and ray-finned fish. Only native ranges are shown on the maps. The book is a complete revision of An Atlas of Distribution of the Freshwater Fish Families of the World published in 1981, and reflect changes in classification since that time. Annotation c.
