It is the responsibility of road workers, supervisors or managers to make sure that all road works and road workers are safe and that drivers and pedestrians are informed well in advance about the size and nature of any obstruction. This booklet contains detailed advice and illustrations on what to do when signing road works except those on motorways and high speed dual carriageways with hard shoulders. It is complementary to "Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8".
