This report, based on research commissioned by SCAFA, explores the implications for childcare policies arising from significant changes now taking place in many of Europe's rural areas. It examines childcare provision and needs in four different rural communities in the north of Scotland and also includes Scottish and European examples of innovative childcare projects and information on the use of the European Structural Funds for childcare provision.
