Von der hinteren Coverseite

‘He conquered his sport like no Briton had ever done, but then fell further into disgrace than anybody knew’

Five times world champion and double Olympic medallist, Reg Harris was the greatest sportsman of his age. But look beyond the surface and you find a darker, more complicated soul. Harris was driven by a single-minded ruthlessness both on and off the track, and was defined as much by his pursuit of money and women as that of sporting achievement. Despite his incredible success, he remained a man haunted by a past he could never fully outrun.
