This text is intended as an introduction to both ISDN and LAN and their interconnection in terms of systems, architectures and protocols and data transfer. After a general introduction, ISDN is dealt with in a variety of practical applications. The application of ISDN to LAN is a new subject and this book is is a discussion of topics such as channel usage and the formation of "super channels" and the application of queue and rate based control policies to dynamic management of channels at the ISDN user-network interface. Other previously researched areas including time slot sequence integrity and service rate control are also discussed and compared.
