This welcome introduction to a wide range of business information presented daily in the financial press will be helpful to the uniniatiated. Warfield includes lucid explanations for such recent products as stock index and financial futures as well as for more traditional investment instruments. The absence of references to terms related to tax shelter products keeps the book from being made instantly obsolete by the new tax legislation but, at the same time, keeps it from being complete. Nevertheless, this is an excellent introduction to financial concepts as represented by numbers and stories appearing in the daily newspaper.
