Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Clare Schmieder has run nurseries (both in the UK and abroad) for 17 years. She has been a Registered Nursery Inspector for OFSTED for 4 years and taught at levels 2,3,4 and 5 at Weymouth, and Bournemouth and Poole colleges. She is presently an Early Learning Consultant for Poole Local Authority



Elaine Millar trained and worked for many years as a general and psychiatric nurse in both child and adult fields. After spending some time working in a hostel for teenagers who were leaving care and looking after disadvantaged children from inner city Philadelphia, USA she completed a psychology degree and moved into research nursing. More recently she has combined raising a family with writing books and distance learning courses in health and social care.



Janet Stearns is a qualified nurse, midwife, health visitor, teacher and play therapist. She has over 20 years experience of teaching childcare in schools and colleges and is an experienced examiner and external moderator for childcare qualifications. She is currently working as an independent trainer and consultant for childcare qualifications.



Mark Walsh is a writer, teacher and mental health nurse. He works with both further and higher education students, teaching health and social care and social science courses. Mark has written a wide range of bestselling textbooks and teacher resources, and has worked as an educational teaching consultant, and as a senior examiner.
