Finances. Relationships. Sickness. Addictions. Depression. The storms of life can come upon us without warning. The day was peaceful when Jesus stepped into the boat with his disciples. But a storm soon whipped the waves into a deadly froth. In the middle of the storm, there stood Jesus. “Be still,” he commanded. And it was calm. In this deeply personal devotion book, Pastor Mark Gass shares his 42-day journey at the bedside of his wife as she lay in a coma after surgery on a brain tumor. E-mails shared with his congregation and a network of supporters take readers inside the journey of a family holding on to Jesus’ reminder to “Be still” in all of life’s troubles. Accompanying devotions apply Jesus’ words from the cross to the storms of our lives. Whatever the storms in your life, these 45 daily devotions will remind you of the stillness that comes only through Jesus’ promises.
