Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Chris Kimball, SE, MCP, CBO, is Vice President of West Coast Code Consultants, Inc. (WC3), which provides third-party plan review services to jurisdictions throughout the United States. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in addition to being an ICC-certified Master Code Professional and Certified Building Official, and a certified fire code official. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering from Utah State University. Mr. Kimball has served as president of the Structural Engineers Association of Utah (SEAU) as well as president of the Beehive Chapter of the International Code Council. He is an ICC-approved instructor and is frequently asked to provide training classes to building official, design professional, and contractor organizations to assist them in understanding the requirements of the adopted building codes.
