Críticas:
"The rhythmic writings of Ed Shankman and the cuddly illustrations from Dave O'Neill have come to feel like old friends here at our house." -myfourmonkeys.com
"When I found Shankman and O'Neill I felt like I had found a lost treasure . . . what they have to offer is worthy of being on a children's classic list. Trust me, we read a lot of books around here and Shankman and O'Neill are in a league of their own." - GoGrahamGo.com
"You, or your child, might have a grandmother that lives in Florida. You, or your child, might not. Regardless, there is a relationship between grandmothers and their grandchildren unlike any other, and that connection is what Verona-based author Ed Shankman and Montclair-based illustrator Dave O'Neill sought to capture on the pages of their newest book . . ."

"Author Ed Shankman and illustrator Dave O'Neill have done a fantastic job in creating this fun book for children ages two to seven. In this book - "My Grandma Lives in Florida" - young readers can follow a child on his visit to his grandmother's house in Florida. The book uses Seussian rhymes and rhythms, affectionate humor, and dazzling illustrations to present a child's-eye view of the grandmother/grandson relationship. Although meant for young children, I loved reading the book and admired the colorful illustrations - and, my grandchild keeps asking me to read the book to him over and over again.
The book is also permeated by Florida's sunny disposition. One fine example reads "That sun warms each beach it can reach/And rest assured, it reaches each/It shines on every manatee/From Tampa Bay to Longboat Key." Both men believe this fable will capture the hearts of children and grandmother's everywhere (It did mine!)."

"Seeing the green scaly skin and long snouts on the characters, you might not guess at first that Ed Shankman's latest book is about a child's visit to his grandmother in the Sunshine State -- inspired, in fact, by his own two Jewish "bubbes," one assimilated and sophisticated, the other the embodiment of Yiddishkeit to her core.
'Both these women were amazingly influential in my life, taught me all kinds of stuff, and showered me with unconditional love and appreciation, ' he told "NJ Jewish News." 'The grandma in the story is a composite of them both.'

""My Grandma Lives in Florida" is a treasure. A fantastic children's book set to detailed and sophisticated (and occasionally wild) verse in the best Seussian tradition. . . as good as anything put out these days for the 2-6 set."

Reseña del editor:
Author Ed Shankman and illustrator Dave O'Neill began creating their award-winning children's books in New England, with stories on Boston, Cape Cod, Maine, and Vermont. In 2011 they turned their attention to New Orleans, Louisiana, and in 2013 they travel to the Sunshine State, Florida! This sunny, happy, and lovingly humorous story follows a child alligator, who lives in NYC, as he visits his grandma in her Florida home. "I love my grandma and grandma loves me," he says, as they visit the beach, and theme parks, and, best of all, walk and talk and enjoy each other's company. Everyone will find something in the story to remind them of their own relationships with beloved grandparents or grandchildren. With bouncing rhymes and colorful illustrations, grandparents, parents and children are sure to love reading this story again and again!
