Críticas:
"Throughout this book, children will see how the students and teachers included Emily in the class work and what they did to make her feel calm if she became overwhelmed. Black and white photographs and excerpts from Emily's communication book from school are included in many of the short chapters...Recommended."-- (01/06/2012)

"This book offers a unique poignancy, captured in photos and an epilogue written by Emily herself, that other resources on the topic often lack. It presents issues of equality, access, and parity in a narrative style that is easily accessible to any child who may be experiencing their own uncertainty with inclusion situations at school."-- (05/01/2012)

"This excellent biography exposes the reader to the world of living with disabilities and to the advantages of inclusive education for all children."--Canadian Teacher Magazine (09/01/2012)
Reseña del editor:
Emily Eaton was born with severe cerebral palsy. Denied access to classes at her local school, she and her parents challenged the local board of education for her right to be educated with non-disabled children in a regular classroom. Her case took years and went all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada in the late nineties and is considered an important step in the fight for inclusive education for both physically and mentally challenged people. Emily went on to graduate from high school, proving the skeptics wrong. Emily's fight to be treated like a "normal," everyday kid in a regular classroom, at a time when children with CP were segregated, was groundbreaking. Her story makes her an amazing role model for children everywhere—whether they are living with a disability or not.
