Meic Stephens is the pre-eminent obituarist in contemporary Wales. His own autobiography, Cofnodion, was recently published by Y Lolfa and he has just finished a life of the Welsh writer Rhys Davies. Until his retirement in 2003 he was Professor of Welsh Writing in English at the University of Glamorgan.
