Afterall: Autumn/Winter 2013, Issue 34 - Softcover

Featuring the work of Lene Berg, Lucy McKenzie, Mary Ellen Carroll, Haegue Yang, and Lili Dujourie, Issue 34 examines artistic practices that address notions of cultural tradition while defying essentialist definitions of identity. Issue 35 looks at contemporary art's engagement with history through the work of Teatro de Vertigem, Tony Chakar, Olga Chernysheva, and Danh Vo.

Nuria Enguita Mayo is part of the program arteypensamiento at the Universidad Internacional de Andalucia. Melissa Gronlund teaches at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, University of Oxford. Pablo Lafuente is associate curator at the Office for Contemporary Art Norway. Anders Kreuger is a curator at M HKA, Antwerp. Stephanie Smith is deputy director and chief curator at the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago.
