Mae Chandro grew up in Indonesia and travelled the world extensively when she finished school. Whenever Mae was a guest in a friend's home, she would prepare an Indonesian feast for her hosts. After being asked for cooking lessons and recipes numerous times, Mae wrote Indonesian to share her encyclopedic knowledge of food from her home region. Mae spends her time between Australia and Indonesia, and is working on a second cookbook.
