This is not a book aimed at beginners but anybody with some quilting experience ought not to find it too challenging. The steps are not illustrated with photos but with clear diagrams showing what you have added to a block and there is a cutting list of what you have to cut out before you start. At the back of the book is a chapter entitled "Quiltmaking Basics" which will be of help to those who are not experts. There are 14 projects, quilts, a duvet cover, cushions etc. plus a dogs bed. Most of the blocks are 13" square or bigger. The original aspect of the designs is the irregular placement and size of the blocks. One quilt has two 40" stars in opposite corners with ten 20" stars around the remaining corners. Another quilt has both bowties and neckties pieced into blocks. The written words and diagrams are easy to follow.
