And the local berry season is yet to come. Like her previous books in "The Joy of ..." series, "Strawberries" is packed with recipes and information. Recipe titles are listed beneath each chapter title in the table of contents. If you expect an index or photographs, you'll be disappointed. What you will get are more than 200 recipes using fresh, frozen, canned or dried strawberries. Most of the recipes in the wire-bound book are suitable for beginning cooks.
