Reseña del editor:
Sometimes, the word "adventure" conjures up feelings of fun and excitement and maybe longing. At other times, it stands for danger and ultimate fear. The story depicted in these pages encompasses a panorama of both. Aaron White, a typical teenager from a typical farming family had never ventured far from home. He was no stranger to hard work and was a prime candidate for a trip into a wild and exciting adventure into the unknown. He was suddenly transported from a typical day on the farm into a colorful daydream. At the outset, he was given a lecture on history and then instructions for a long journey where he would discover clues that would eventually be used to solve an ages old mystery. While some of the events he encountered on his journey were a reminder of his actual home life, he confronted others that were intimidating and at times very dangerous. The fact that the mystery had baffled many before him made the adventure more challenging. As you read the account of young Aaron's journey, you'll discover the many challenges that he faced while "once upon a river".
Biografía del autor:
Leon Elwood Cheers is 84 years of age, a retired but still working auto parts salesman who lives in the small and growing town of Shallotte, North Carolina with his wife of fifty nine years. They have been blessed with four children-two sons, two daughters, and two grandchildren. They live on an old farm that is mostly wooded now and have several deer, wild turkeys, foxes, squirrels, and rabbits for neighbors. Leon has always been an avid reader, but was never interested in writing until the year 2000 when he wrote the town's Centennial Memorial Book. This is his first attempt at fiction but he plans to continue in writing a book of short historical stories which contain poems written by his wife, Phyllis.
