The idea for the series The Amazing Adventures of Bradley Baker first occurred to David after he recalled the bedtime stories recited to his older brother during their childhood days in the 1970's. He was keen to recreate the imaginary adventures, which they had experienced with their school friends, down the bath's plughole at their parent's house in South Yorkshire. David started to pen his ideas and carefully planned his tome during 2000 and over the months that followed Bradley Baker finally came to life. The first draft manuscript was completed in 2001 but it took over seven years to complete the plots and characters for each book. Nine years later, following the conception of his young protagonist, the first book in the series was published.
