Críticas:
The irrepressible Frank Hinks strikes again in his latest book, The Body Collector. Number 15 in the Ramion Series Collection, The Body Collector is as fresh and funny and exciting as Book 1, The Land of Lost Hair. Here Boris the Skull is allowed his own flight of fancy: to find his body. Told in simple, no-nonsense, take-it-or-leave it language, Boris quest is a story demanding giggles and guffaws. And the illustrations are better and brighter and funnier than ever whether as vignettes or as full page images which breaking the boundaries of spine and integrate with the text without losing readability. I wonder if I should have a duvet day and read the whole series from start to finish?Robin Stuart-Clark www.bookblurb.co.za Let me tell you about The Body Collector, which is without a doubt a fantastic book for Halloween and beyond. This is the 15th story in the Ramion collection, which is aimed for 7/8 year olds. As I have two boys this age, I was delighted to receive a copy for review. My youngest however wasnt too keen on it (hes a hard boy to please!), but my 8 year old absolutely loved it (as did his mummy!). Having a perfect mix of dry humour and adventure, this makes a delightful book full of ghouls and weirdness! As I started reading this to my boy, we realised how weird it actually is. In a nutshell, this book is about three boys (Julius, Alexander and Benjamin), and a Body Collector called Charlie Stench who endeavours to collect bodies and turn their head into evil floating skulls. However, Boris (a skull) didnt become evil, much to his wicked witch owner Griseldas despair! He longs to have his body back and after saving Griselda from very evil and deadly skulls, she agrees and they visit Charlie. While there, they bump into the boys amongst the dead, and everything goes wrong! - www.iconicgifts.com September 2012 "Both my girls age ranged 6 and 8 enjoyed this story as the book was a mixture of wording and bright colourful illustration with all the action that happens and therefore kept them interested in reading the book and wanted to find out what happens next." - www.mummynews.co.uk Nov 2012 really nice to find a beautiful well-presented book thats perfect for giving. - playpennies website Nov 2012 "It's a unique bedtime story for adults and children alike." - We Are Family magazine Nov 2012 "..it keeps children engaged and wanting to find out what is going to happen next." - Stressed Rach website Oct 2012 "(the author) knows his audience and writes for them, not at them, he's fully in charge of his prose... if you're looking for something different to inspire literary enthusiasm in reluctant readers, Ramion could prove to be a surprisingly rich and lasting resource." - Teach Primary magazine Oct 2012. --Teach Primary magazine Oct 2012.
Reseña del editor:
Charlie Stench the Body Collector collects bodies: the heads he turns into floating skulls with all the powers of evil (except that in the case of Boris the skull something went wrong and he did not turn out evil at all). Boris loves the wicked witch Griselda (who treats him mean and keeps him keen) but as fans of Frank Hinks Ramion Collection will know Boris longs to have his body back. After saving Griselda from the mini-skulls Boris persuades her to visit the Body Collector, but when Griselda finds the boys (Julius, Alexander and Benjamin) amongst the dead nothing works out as they expect. Can the warrior cat Snuggle protect the boys from THE BODY COLLECTOR who wants their bodies for his collection and Griselda who as always wants to eat them?! This is the 15th story in the Ramion collection and arguably the most controversial. A mix of dry humour and adventure The Body Collector delivers boyish delight of muddy hands and ghostly globs, but adults will find a deeper message within its pages, a reminder of parental love, making The Body Collector a unique bedtime story for adults and children alike.
