A broad overview of cultural diversity as opposed to an indepth analysis of any one culture/ethnic group and in so doing encourages the reader to both recognise and celebrate difference. A number of appendices, relating to the 'beliefs and practices' of six of the more well known religions, provide a helpful source of 'quick' reference. Relevant contact addresses and web sites are also included making this book a valuable text for all those who are involved in care provision.

Cultural Awareness in Nursing and Health Care explores many sensitive issues of culture, race and ethnicity as they affect patient care. Its main focus is on the presentation of theoretical issues which are then discussed in relation to case studies and the reader's own clinical practice experiences.
