Instead of telling families to oversee feeding as a rule, she advocates a more individualistic approach, encouraging family members to try different methods to see which works best.

Michele Siegel, Ph.D., initiated the idea for this book and was co-founder with Judith Brisman of the Eating Disorder Resource Center. She died in 1993.
