WOOLF, VIRGINIA: THE VOYAGE OUT, New York: Blue Ribbon, 1937. [Using reprints of the original Doran text] Woolf's first book, the story of a timid young woman's life and early death. The original title for this book was Euphrosyne. It was first published by Woolf's family's firm, Duckworth, in 1915. In this edition, 5000 copies were issued. This is a very good copy in green cloth with gilt lettering. The book shows some a little sunning but is generally very nice, square and tight, with a light green stain to the top textblock. There is a previous owner's blindstamp on the title page. The scarce dustwrapper is still bright, surprising for a book which has a lot of red in the design, with slight loss of material at the top spine end, a 1/2" closed tear on the front panel, and a little flaking at the extremities. Generally, a superior copy.
